In Sydney, we work with many professionals from Big 4, 2nd Tier and other accounting & advisory practices considering their career plans, with the inevitable question that crosses the mind: "Should I leave the profession and get into an industry role?"
Naturally, if you are in this field you are bombarded with a cloud of advice, some of which isn't exactly accurate or generalised to the point it doesn't really relate to your personal goals, values and strengths. We believe strongly in building a career that suits you, and sometimes that means staying where you are a little longer and building, other times that means taking yourself to the market and making a move. There is no right or wrong, just a "right for you".
In order to demystify the move from chartered, we believe it is best to extract honest and real stories from leaders that have made this move successfully and learned lessons along the way. This is delivered in a group mentoring set up to ensure there is the chance to have open conversations and engage with the leaders we have selected.
The program is broken into two sessions and attendance to both is compulsory to ensure we respect the time provided by the speakers and leverage the power of the ideas generated from the group.
In this session, we explore the transition to commerce with three leaders, capturing the different experiences and common themes that lead to "success" and career growth in industry. Each has a different story and profile to ensure you realise the range of opportunities, and all have been willing to share honest stories about failures, successes and perspectives you should consider when you look at this career move.
Career management expert and author, Brad Eisenhuth, will workshop the concept of career management and building a framework around your career decisions to help you identify and strategically investigate career moves that could be right or wrong for you. Like our first group of speakers, Brad is honest and will give you a "recruitment sell", but genuine insights from the work he does in the career management space.
